Bryan Smart is the Founder and CEO of Smartscaping.  He launched Smartscaping in 2014 and has grown the business into a thriving firm that provides innovative landscaping maintenance and design for residential, municipal and corporate properties.

Prior to launching SmartScaping, Bryan spent five years of his career in the public service sector as a Deputy Chief of Staff, Director of Community Affairs, and even a City Council Candidate, for the City of Houston.  The third generation HBCU Alum served as Executive President of the Student Association and President of the College of Arts and Science Student Council at Howard University and had the distinguished honor of introducing US President Barack Obama at a White House signing ceremony for an executive order to strengthen historically black colleges and universities!

Bryan is a Board Member of The Leland Woods Zone Board of Directors and Reinvestment Zone Number Twenty-Two and has always been a champion for community growth and an advocate for students, employees, and young entrepreneurs.  He aided and implemented the first Houston Appreciation Week, initiated the Hire Houston Youth Program, and is launching a Co-Op learning program to provide a pathway to a career in the landscaping industry for HISD students.  Bryan also initiated a ‘Smartscaping Cares’ program that gives back to the community with scholarships, internships, free lawn mowing services for seniors and veterans and weekly charitable community service projects to help clean up urban blight!
